Chana Dahl (bengal gram lentils or black chickpea lentils) are baby chickpeas that have been split and polished. A staple in Indian Cooking and are an excellent ingredient in soups, salads and rice dishes. They are high in fiber and are a great source of healthy, low fat, and vegan protein. You can also substitute them for yellow split peas in recipes.
